Rob Morris
Rob graduated with a degree in leadership psychology from the United States Military Academy, West Point in 1994. He holds a graduate degree in counseling and leadership development from Long Island University, and he is currently a doctoral candidate in Social-Organizational Psychology at Columbia University.
Prior to joining YSC in 2007, Rob worked in higher education, where he taught leadership to undergraduate students and managed executive education programs for working professionals. He also served for twelve years in the United States Army, where he held several operational and personnel management roles, spanning management development, human resources, and line management. He has worked internationally, with specific experience in Europe, Asia, and the United States.
In his last role prior to joining YSC, Rob spent four years at the United States Military Academy designing leadership development programs and teaching leadership. In his role, he worked within the government, for-profit, and not-for-profit sectors on talent development and executive team leadership initiatives. He also coordinated an Executive Master’s Program in Organizational Psychology and the Advanced Certificate Program in Organizational Development and Human Resource Management (ODHRM) at Teachers College, Columbia University.
Since joining YSC, Rob has worked with clients in the financial services, pharmaceutical, entertainment, and consumer goods industries. Having both served as a line manager and studied organizations extensively, Rob uses his knowledge and experience to facilitate people and organization development. He is passionate about team learning and leadership development, with a particular focus on promoting self-awareness and interpersonal effectiveness. He has experience in assessing individuals and teams, executive coaching, and organization change.
Rob grew up in Houston Texas, but currently resides in New York City with his wife. In his spare time, he plays as much golf as possible, and he has trained for and run three Marathons and three Half Ironman Triathlons
