The YSC Potential Model has long been used by a number of our largest clients to guide recruitment decisions and development discussions.  It is now available as an online questionnaire.

YSC has assessed 25,000 senior business people over the past sixteen years.  This unrivalled experience informed our Potential Model, our distillation of the key qualities to be found in highly successful people – particularly with regards to their leadership ability.

In essence, we see there being three key areas: Drive, Judgement and Influence.  These are then each divided into a further three capability clusters, all of which have behavioural indicators attached.  It is a model which has stood the test of time, and is used regularly by some of our key clients in assessing the potential of their people.

This model now provides the under-pinning of our new Potential Guide, an online psychometric.  It takes twenty-five minutes to complete and it generates a report which scores an individual against each of the nine ‘Potential’ capabilities.  This can then be used in the context of:

  • Recruitment and promotion decisions
  • Assessment centres
  • Career development
  • One-to-one coaching
