HSBC

HSBC use View assessments to support their selection decisions for the International Finance Managers (IFM) Programme and also for appointments to mid-level Finance roles. Faced with the challenges of an internationally dispersed population, cost and travel restrictions as well as the need to make selection decisions quickly, we discussed several options with the client. View assessments addressed these needs while also providing the rigour, insight and external benchmarks against best in class that the bank values in the YSC approach.

For the IFM Programme, timing was a particular issue: 23 candidates from all over the world needed to be assessed and individual written reports were required by the selection committee within a defined three week delivery timeframe. The committee required a detailed description of each individual's potential, benchmark ratings around their experience, functional skill and leadership capability relative to external benchmarks of excellence, an understanding of their particular strengths and development challenges, plus YSC's recommendation for the IFM Programme. All this was provided in a timely and efficient fashion using YSC View.

International Media Organisation

Senior manager assessments in International Media organisation

Tailored View assessments were applied with a development focus for this global newspaper/media organisation. The culture required a precise reading of selected individuals with specific lists of strengths and development themes. The participants, around 80 in total, were all were the raw material for a wave of development activity aimed at reshaping the current generation of leaders. Our View assessments incorporated 360 feedback based on key elements of YSC's Potential model, as well as a developmentally oriented interView. Face-to-face interactions and consultant feedback promoted a high level of ownership, as participants were prepared for the next stages of their development (via a formal Leadership Development Programme). This View based approach allowed individuals to understand themselves and helped clarify their future in a fast changing organisation.
